this is a page dedicated to things that interest me. if you made it here from the about me page, you probably want to know more about what i like and what im into. well, here you go.
when i was young i used to be able to read a book a day, and i read all sorts of stuff. ill never forgive high school for forcing me to read so many books that i really didnt care for to the point that (in my opinion) it ruined my love of reading.
in an attempt to get back into reading books, ive been re-reading the warrior cats series from the beginning, since that was a book series that i was absolutely obsessed with as a kid. turns out im just as obsessed with it now as i was then, and have been having so much fun re-reading them all. at the time of writing this, im on book 2 of the new prophecy (moonrise). im having so much fun. ive also bought the new graphic novels that are coming out that adapt the prophecies begin. the 3rd one comes out at the end of the month (at the time of writing this) and im really excited about it :]
as of late, i havent been playing many video games. not for lack of games, or lack of enjoyment, but ive been spending a lot of time on other projects. plus its been a really hot summer, and my computer room gets constant sunlight on it, so that room specifically cooks. however, through my years of gaming theres a couple that stand out as absolute favorites, and ive listed them below in no particular order. you can click on them to read more of my thoughts about them.
normally with old media people can be clouded by nostalgia and think that its better than it actually is, and maybe thats the case with me too. but either way, i can still find joy playing this game to this day. ive played it on and off for over 20 years. played through it countless times, speedran it, played game randomizers of it, watch people play/speedrun it, etc. it doesnt get old for me. i love this game to death and its easily my favorite game of all time.
i never played bg1 or bg2, and i only played bg3 because it was really hyped up when it was coming out, but man am i glad i did. this game is so fun, theres a reason it won goty. when it came out i hyperfocused on it solely for weeks until i beat it, and since then ive beat it a few other times, solo and with friends. and now it has mods, so even more fun. as i write this, im currently doing a run with a big homebrew mod that overhauls a lot of the game mechanics, so that's been exciting to play too!
im putting these ones together because theyre both cringy riot games. maybe calling them 'favorites' isnt exactly accurate but ive played a ton of them over the years so it would be disingenous to not include them. a love hate relationship with them both, at this point i only play either one very casually as my friedns ask me to join them, but i dont think ive ever had the desite in the last...year or so to just hop on league or valorant alone. almost only will i play with friends at this point, and even less likely will i be playing any ranked gamemode.
since these are are fairly similar games, im including them together as id probably say similar things about each of them. i was introduced to dark souls by one of my best friends when i was visiting her after she moved away. id never even heard of them, and she wanted to show me this game that her dad had got for her. i was hooked, even though i sucked at it. thats defintiely a core memory for me. i tried playing dark souls 2 before 3 came out and god i hated that game lol. but 3 was great, and elden ring was spectacular too. huge fan of these games. note about bloodborne: as much as i think that game is cool, im really, really bad at it. i was never great at parrying in souls games, and its more important in bloodborne than it is in other games...so as much as ive tried, i cant even beat the first boss in bloodborne ;-;
i came across solasta randomly a couple months beore baldurs gate 3 came out. me and a friend were just looking for a game to play, and we love d&d, so we gave it a try. it was maybe a little janky, if i remember correctly the voice acting was a little awkward at times too, but i do think this game is the 2nd best ttrpg-based crpg out there. im really excited to play the sequel, whenever that comes out.
ive played almost all the mainline pokemon games i think? but diamond is defintely my favorite of them. i played this so much as a kid. i used to stay up late at night under my covers and play the underground area, or using my action replay to use cheat codes (hold l to walk through walls my beloved...). i remember having to slam my ds shut and pretend to sleep when my mom would check on me to make sure i was sleeping (i wonder if she knew?). funny enough i never played pokemon platinum, so i wonder if id have liked that one more.
sick game with fast paced parkour-ish gameplay. built in timer and speed leaderboard, with time tiers to beat (and a secret dev time to beat as well). i go back to this game every once in a while to keep chipping away at trying to beat all the dev times. would be really fun to learn how to speedrun this game, but theres a ton of levels and a ton of skips and strats to learn, which i dont have time to commit to learning. still very fun though and one of my favorite games.
of all the 'friendslop' (i say that affectionately) games out there, i think this one was my favorite. ive played a decent amount of them - among us, lethal company, etc. but peak is just wholesome and really fun to play. someday i want to get all the badges, as well as finish all the ascents. someday.
this game was sooooo fun when the first early access came out. me and some friends played a lot of it for like a week straight. we hit the current level cap and finished all the content that was out, but i really do hope that development on it continues and i get to play more of this.
this studio makes amazing 2 player co-op games. god i love all of these games so much. of the three, split fiction was probably the coolest since it had so many different game mechanics and genres within it, but all three of these games are great. definitely recommend.
cool robots, cool enemies, high intensity gameplay, psx style graphics, extremely violent...i could go on. this game is insane and awesome and riddled with secret levels and easter eggs. i love this games aesthetic. i am so bad at this game.
im a weirdo on the internet. of course i like these games.
i loooooove rhythm games even though im not the best at them. i like to think i have a pretty good sense of rhythm at least. but of all the ones ive played, osu is the one that i come back to the most. i used to play a lot of osu mania, as well as the project sekai games. but those are hard as fuck.
there are plenty more. ive been playing games since i was like 6. im also a huge fan of a lot of other nintendo games, including most of the other pokemon games, many of the zelda games, kirby, smash bros, and lots of others too. if i listed every video game ive played and liked, id be here forever, so instead ive just listed a few standouts that stuck with me for one reason or another. my steam library has over 450 games in it, and that does include any of the console games ive also played over the years. feel free to check out my steam profile to see what ive been playing, my profile is public. though if you add me randomly i probably wont add you back, since a lot of scammers try to add me lol.
i listen to a lot of different music. all different kinds. as much as i hate the cliche 'i listen to everything except country,' i do listen to everything except country. maybe its better to say i will listen to anything except country, since i kind of listen to music in a stupid way where i just listen to the same 1 or 2 playlists over and over and over again. i also just go through phases with my music. but whatever. below is a list of some artists i really like (in no particular order). you can click on them to see some of my favorite songs of theirs (in no particular order).

not really sure what the best title for this section would be. these are a few things that i am a really big fan of i guess. im not particularly active in any 'fandoms' (aside from the furry fandom i guess) but these are a few things i like. as usual, click on them to see more.
ive only mentioned it like a trillion times. i guess the books section is just about warriors at this point so. just go read that part for the details.
my love of godzilla probably stems from my general love of reptiles. i just like him. hes big and hes a monster and hes cool. would you believe me if i told you ive seen one (1) godzilla movie ever? am i a poser for not consuming the media of a thing i really, really like? maybe. but i dont care. hes cool and i love him.
i love evangelion. sooo much. i prefer the original series over the rebuilds...the last rebuild movie was...not my favorite. but at least the big robots are cool. i have a really hard time putting into words why i like this series so much, but something about it makes me want to tear into an angel's flesh. anyways. i have a tattoo of unit 01 from this scene.
i like cool robots. and the robots in ultrakill are sick as hell. read more about it in the games section though. i just wanted to give it a little special mention.
